What kind of blog is this?
This is a weight-loss blog. I plan on posting my progress, hopefully daily! I want to share what I eat, what kind of exercise I do, how I'm feeling about my health/weight/weight-loss/ect..., and both my successes and struggles.
How much weight do I want to lose?
My lowest weight as an adult has been 255 lbs, back in 2006, when I was 20. My highest weight was 366 lbs during the summer of 2012. The last time I was weighed (3 days ago), I weighed 338 lbs. I recently lost 14 lbs. How? I'm not totally sure. I had been on a binge, eating lots of salty snacks, and I recently went to a spiritual retreat, where I decided that I NEED to lose weight and become healthy. Before then, I had gained about 14 lbs or so, and so after the retreat, I lost 14 lbs in about 2 weeks. Anyways, enough rambling! :) I have no set ultimate goal weight (UGW), but probably under 150 lbs. Everyone's body is different, and what is healthy for one person of my height and bone structure is not healthy for another. I don't know what is healthy for me, since I haven't been at a healthy weight since I was about 2-years-old. This is going to be new territory for me.
Am I going to get weight loss surgery?
As of right now, NO. My mother is planning on it, and I support her in that, but it is not for me. I have my reasons, and I may elaborate later.
What kind of diet am I going on?
I'm not going on a diet. I'm going to learn how to eat healthy. I'm going to learn to move my body in ways that are safe and strengthening. I need to learn to eat more fruits and vegetables. I recently bought a juicer, but I've only used it once, so far. :) I want to cut out diet soda completely and drink more tea.
What health issues do I have from my weight?
I have asthma, back pain, the inability to stand for more than a few minutes, and I use a walker when walking very far. When I go grocery shopping, I have to use an electric cart, and if the store doesn't have any available, I'm screwed.
What health issues do I have that are not caused by obesity, but are exacerbated by it?
Fibromyalgia and PCOS.
Any questions for me? Please feel free to ask! I want this blog to be inspiring to others.
